Frequently Asked Questions

What Can I expect to Invest in therapy?

$250 for our 50 minute Intake session (first meeting).

$225 for our 45 minute weekly, individual sessions.

How will we be meeting each week?

Telehealth; we will meet through secure video/virtual sessions.

As long as you reside in the state of California, we would be able to meet for sessions using telehealth.

Once we confirm our first session, I will provide you more information on how to access our video sessions through my secure HIPPA-compliant platform called SimplePractice (no cost for you to use).

What can I expect once I contact you?

We will schedule a time to have a free 15 minute consultation phone call. There we will learn more about what you are looking to address in your weekly therapy. We will discuss logistics and I’ll answer any questions you may have.

Check out my page, Therapy Overview for more information on what to expect.

Do you Provide Therapy IN vietnamese?

No. Although I speak Vietnamese, at this time I do not provide therapy solely in Vietnamese. If you also speak Vietnamese, it may help us clarify and process specific words, messages and interactions, and we can definitely speak in Vietnamese as needed to help increase understanding.

What are accepted forms of Payment?

Credit Card/Debit Card.

Usually you’d be able to use funds available from your Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) and/or Health Savings Accounts (HSA) - click links for more info on FSA and HSA.

*Payments are due at the start of sessions.

What about insurance?

I am not in-network with any insurance; I do not accept insurance.

However, if you have and are looking to use your insurance and have a PPO plan, please look at the Superbill section below.

Superbills

Although I do not accept any insurances, if you have a PPO plan, you may be able to use your PPO plan with Out-of-Network services.

I can provide you with a Superbill, if you are interested to see if your insurance potentially reimburses for some of the therapy costs. Providing this Superbill does not guarantee any reimbursements. Please verify your Out-of-Network benefits with your insurance before we meet.

Even when Superbills are provided, you are responsible for payment at the time of session, whether your insurance offers reimbursement or not. Insurances also do not cover any additional fees (e.g. late cancellation, etc.).

Your records are subject to review at any point by your insurance when you use their out-of-network services. At any time during treatment if your insurance coverage changes, and/or if your insurance company denies reimbursement and/or seeks recoupment for any reason you, the client/responsible party, is responsible for 100% for all conducted sessions and future sessions.

Good Faith Estimate

Under the No Surprises Act, you have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost.

Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.

  • You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services, including psychotherapy services.

  • You may ask for a Good Faith estimate before scheduling a session.

  • If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.

  • Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.

Click here for the Good Faith Estimate in more detail. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises.
